Overview

The Data Visualization Specialist is responsible for transforming complex data into clear, insightful, and visually compelling dashboards, reports, and analytics products. This role works closely with data analysts, data engineers, and business stakeholders to deliver visual solutions that support strategic decision-making across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities1. Dashboard & Report Development
• Design, build, and maintain interactive dashboards using tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Qlik, Looker, or Google Data Studio.
• Develop visually appealing reports that communicate key insights to business stakeholders.
• Ensure dashboards are scalable, user-friendly, and aligned with business objectives.
2. Data Visualization & Storytelling
• Translate raw and complex datasets into meaningful narratives.
• Apply best practices in data visualization to ensure clarity, usability, and accuracy.
• Present findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
3. Data Analysis & Interpretation
• Perform exploratory data analysis (EDA) to uncover insights, anomalies, and trends.
• Collaborate with analysts to refine data metrics, KPIs, and business logic.
• Support ad-hoc analysis requests from business teams.
4. Data Quality & Governance
• Work with data engineering teams to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and reliability.
• Validate data sources and perform quality checks for dashboards and reports.
• Document dashboards, data models, and workflow processes.
5. Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
• Partner with business units to understand reporting needs and requirements.
• Provide training or guide users on dashboard usage when needed.
• Participate in planning sessions and contribute to BI roadmap initiatives.
Qualifications & Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, Design, or related field.
• 1–5 years of experience in BI, data visualization, analytics, or dashboard development.
• Strong proficiency in visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, Qlik, Looker, etc.).
• Understanding of SQL; familiarity with Python/R is a bonus.
• Strong analytical thinking, detail orientation, and design sense.
• Knowledge of UI/UX principles for visual analytics.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams.
